Kira Lockwood
Kira Lockwood is a senior at Mira Costa High School. She found her love for research from participating in the AP Capstone diploma. Aside from research, she is also a part of 5x Worlds-qualifying VEX Robotics team (884A) as the Project Manager, documenter, and programmer. Kira is a co-founder of Project Heirloom - a platform that utilizes interactive technology to educate others on the WWII experience for Japanese Americans. She is a long-time volunteer for the Center for Pacific Asian Families and has raised thousands of dollars through pop-up sales and workshops. Kira has also been playing the violin for over 8 years.

Anya Kapoor
Anya Kapoor is a senior at Mira Costa High School whose interests lie at the intersection of writing, research, and music. She writes regularly on Substack and for the Los Angeles Times High School Insider program. Her work in psychology has been recognized by the John Locke Institute Essay Competition, and she received an NPTA Honorable Mention for her poem Over and Over. Anya is also the author of The Girl with the Light Bulb, published on Amazon, and wrote, produced, and performed the original song Petals, available on Spotify.
